One of the hardest things to do in completing a project is finishing a project. If you don't finish a job and punch it out correctly, it will leave a bad impression on the customer. We've just completed two projects within the last two weeks and working on completing a third project. I'm back out here doing physical work in the field and helping out where needed in order to complete the projects. Two down and one more to go! .
Customer showed me a picture of a vanity and asked me could I build it. Of course I said Yes! Sometimes you have to do it yourself. Still have the touch.
The remodeling business sometimes reminds me of when I used to play high school and college basketball. When the game gets tight, you have to find a way to get through to win the game. When you're tired, you can't give up and quit, you have to find a way to suck it up and push forward and finish the game, no matter what the outcome may be. No matter how hard the game is and no matter how many mistakes you've made during the game, you have to learn from your mistakes and don't do the same mistakes again or else you'll keep loosing the game.
The remodeling business is the same way. When your budget is tight, you have to find a way to get through to the end, whether you make a profit or not. When you're tired, you can't quit and give up, you have to keep pushing forward and finish the job. If you make a mistake in the remodeling business, it can be costly and you'll loose profit, and if you make the same mistake twice you'll not only loose, profit,, but it could end your career. . I'm not a looser and I've never been a quitter, so I'm in this game of remodeling til the very end because it's in my blood.. "Winners Never Quit" and "Quitters Never Win". Today the expected temperature is expecting to be in the high 90's and in the 90's the rest of the week. It just made me think about when I was in my 20's working out in the heat everyday with a jack hammer. I lived in Baltimore, MD and worked for a commercial contractor. We couldn't wear short pants because it was against there policy. We were encouraged to wear white shorts so that the heat will reflect off of our shirts, not draw heat to the body. We learned a lot of different techniques to use while working out in the heat. Just wishing everyone working out in the heat to hydrate and be cautious of the symptoms leading to heat exposure and heat stroke. Mother Nature doesn't play! Keep it Cool!
HAPPY FOURTH OF JULY TO EVERYONE! GRILLED FOOD AND FIREWORKS. MY TYPE OF DAY
Our Addition Job at 1803 Taylor St. NW is moving right along. We just installed all of the window, roofing and we're close to finishing up on all of the trade rough-ins. Looking pretty good so far.
The final walls are almost complete at our Taylor St. Project. We'll start the installation of the floor joists soon.
The official start of Spring is tomorrow March 20, 2019. This Screen Porch Project is getting near the finish line and looking good.
