Well the Fall season is here and this means leaves, leaves and more leaves. This year I decided I wasn't going through what I've been going through ever since I've had a pond and that is Spring cleanup of leaves, acorns, dirt and etc. that accumulates in the pond during the Fall season. So this year I've invested in a "Pond Shelter" which is a screen that covers and protects the pond from falling leaves, acorns and etc. It also keeps the predators out. So once all of the leaves fall, I will remove the net for the winter time. Then by the time Spring gets here, I'll be looking good.
Well we finally finished one of our old projects and I mean literally old, "This Old House". Built in the early 1900's We had some setbacks, delays and etc., but we finally got there. We knocked down the existing rear two-story addition and built a new two-story addition with a sitting room, closet, bathroom on top level and with storage room below. Removed all of the old siding on entire house and installed Tyvek paper on entire house then installed double furring strips ...overtop of Tyvek and then installed new 1 1/2" rigid insulation in between on the exterior walls, new Hardi-Plank Siding, new Versatex trim boards throughout the exterior. Those boards will never rot, so they don't have to worry about ever replaceing the wood, new gutters and downspouts and new composite decking boards on both porches and painting of entire exterior of house. Another satisfied customer. Thanks to all of my crew who helped out on this project to bring it to completion. No need to name them, they know who they are.
Well Labor Day Weekend just past and to most everyone, the summer has ended. Really the summer doesn't officially end until September 23, 2018. So I guess we can enjoy this warm weather a little bit longer. Pretty soon the cool Fall air will start to be among us. Like I always say, this time of year and the early Spring time is the best time to do work outside. So let us know if you have any projects that need work on and we'll work it into our schedule. Happy End of Summer!
Check this out! I went to do an estimate last week for a kitchen remodel job and look what I saw in the kitchen. I didn't think anyone had these anymore, and it worked!!
I just hosted an Alumni Cookout for my high school classmates and I tell you it brought back a lot of memories. It was good seeing everyone and talking about old times. High School played a very important part in my life and I'll never forget what I learned during that time. I will continue to cherish those memories and I look forward to the big 40th.
Well it's not exactly on FIRE!, but we have it framed up at our Kensington, MD project. The roofers are actually there today installing the shingles. I will share pictures of the finished roof on the next blog.
